You probably chop either vegetables or fruits every day, but it is essential to do it quickly and at the same time safely. Here are some tips to execute a fine and safe chopping.

A paper towel under your cutting board

If your chopping or cutting board repeatedly hops while you cut onions or other hard edibles, then place a paper towel under your cutting board to make it stick to the counter.

 

Dry your Edible

It’s excellent that you wash the produced before cutting it but equally important is to dry it before slicing it. Water on it makes it more slippery, thereby making the chopping procedure risky.

 

Choose a Correct Knife

For tough veggies such as onions and carrots, a heavy wide blade knife should be picked. It is sharp and requires you to exert less of pressure.

 

Ditch the Wrong Chopping Board

Go for a cutting board made of either wood or plastic. Any other material, for instance, glass, is too hard and can make the knife dull or cause it to slip.

Let knife do the trick. Refrain yourself from applying force while cutting. Force cut may not give the desired shape or size of the vegetable or fruit that you are cutting. Also, it increases the chance of knife-cut on your finger.
