Morning breakfasts are very essential meals for us. With the increase in the awareness and people getting more conscious for their health, breakfast with less oil and spices are preferred. Keeping the health factor in mind, we concentrate on making our breakfast different yet simple and tasty to give us a rocking start for the day.

Ingredients (For 2 servings)

  • 6-7 Bread Slices cut into pieces

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 1 chopped tomato

  • 4-5 curry leaves

  • 1 chopped green chilly

  • ¼ spoon gram

  • ¼ spoon black mustard seeds

  • ¼ spoon red chilly powder

  • ¼ spoon turmeric powder

  • Salt to taste

  • ½ tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • Some fresh and chopped coriander leaves

  • 1 tbsp edible oil

Method:

  • Put a sauté pan to flame. Pour 1 tbsp of oil and bring it to a heat.

  • Add black mustard seeds when the oil is hot. When it crackles, reduce the flame, add gram and curry leaves.

  • Add chopped onions to it and sauté till it turn golden brown.

  • Once, the onions turn golden brown, add chopped green chilly to it.

  • Add chopped tomato to the sauté pan and mix well.

  • Add spices like salt, red chilly powder and turmeric powder. Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for a minute

  • After 1 minute, add bread pieces to it and mix well. Add fresh lemon juice to it

  • Serve the Bread Poha  hot with some freshly cut coriander leaves.
